Questions about Rings
Are your rings brass or silver?
Most rings in our collection are handmade brass, in polished, brushed, oxidized or antiqued finishes. We also carry handmade sterling silver rings by Kathmandu artisans, some set with spinel, and beaded rings with freshwater pearls on an elastic band. Each product page states the material, and where a stone's type is not confirmed, the listing says so. Browse all our rings.
How do I care for a brass ring?
Keep a brass ring dry and away from perfume, lotion and household chemicals, and wipe it with a soft dry cloth. Brass darkens naturally with wear over time, which is normal for the material and not a defect. On rings with a set stone, avoid soaking or scrubbing the setting. Browse our handmade brass rings.
Will a brass ring turn my finger green?
It can. Brass contains copper, and copper can react with sweat and moisture and leave a faint green mark on the skin. The mark is temporary and washes off. To reduce it, keep the ring dry and away from perfume and lotion, as our care notes advise, and take it off before washing your hands. If you prefer, choose one of our sterling silver rings.
