Cat Bamboo Wind Chime

Hand-painted, hand-carved, and entirely its own thing. The Cat Bamboo Wind Chime comes in two expressions of the same idea: a cat, made from wood, hanging above a cluster of bamboo tubes that catch the wind and fill a room with a soft, hollow knock.

The Head Style variant is compact and characterful — a rounded dome body in matte black with a painted cat face on top: orange and cream, whiskers drawn in clean lines, ears pointed, expression alert. The bamboo tubes below end in carved wooden claw shapes, each one a small detail that rewards a second look. It is a wind chime that has been thought through. The Sitting Figure variant takes the commitment further: a full carved and painted wooden cat, sitting upright — orange tabby stripes, black markings, paws forward, watching. The figure sits on a small round wooden disc above the bamboo tubes, elevated, as if perched. This is not incidental decor. This is a character.

Bamboo wind chimes have been used across Asia for centuries — originally as practical tools to detect the movement of wind before a storm, later as spiritual objects to break stagnant energy in a space, now as objects that carry both functions without declaring either. The sound bamboo makes is not sharp like metal chimes. It is soft, rounded, organic — closer to a wooden percussion instrument than a bell. A sound that does not demand attention, but earns it.
